Aim and Scope

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Literature and Social Science is a peer-reviewed, open-access electronic journal dedicated to advancing high-quality scholarship across the disciplines of humanities, literature, and social sciences. The journal provides a vibrant platform for academicians, scholars, researchers, and practitioners to present original research, critical essays, creative analyses, and applied studies from around the world.

The journal embraces an interdisciplinary ethos, encouraging submissions that bridge the traditional boundaries of history, philosophy, literature, linguistics, cultural studies, political science, sociology, psychology, education, and allied disciplines. Our mission is to foster critical discourse, cultural literacy, social inquiry, and reflective understanding through diverse theoretical and empirical approaches.

In addition to promoting advanced research, the journal seeks to cultivate academic writing and publishing skills among emerging scholars, including graduate students, early-career researchers, and independent thinkers. We are especially committed to supporting contributors from underrepresented and developing regions, offering mentorship and editorial guidance where needed.

The journal accepts a broad spectrum of submissions including original research articles, literature reviews, theoretical expositions, book reviews, reflective essays, cultural critiques, policy analyses, and creative works that align with our interdisciplinary focus. The journal follows a continuous publication model, allowing for rapid dissemination of accepted manuscripts. All content is published as fully open access and freely available without subscription fees or publication charges.

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Literature and Social Science provides immediate open access to all its content, embracing the principle that free availability of research supports wider academic exchange and public understanding. By removing financial, legal, and technical barriers, the journal enables authors' work to reach global audiences, fostering critical engagement and collaboration across disciplines. All content is published under an open-access license and is freely accessible online, without paywalls or access restrictions.

Peer Review Process

The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other to ensure impartial and unbiased evaluation. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent scholars with relevant subject expertise. In case of significant disparity between reviews, a third reviewer may be appointed to provide clarity and facilitate a balanced editorial decision.

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Literature and Social Science adopts a continuous publication model. Articles are published as soon as they are accepted, following editorial review and production, ensuring timely access and academic relevance.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

A standard article processing charge (APC) of 100 USD applies to accepted manuscripts. There are no submission or review charges. Waivers may be considered in cases of demonstrated financial hardship or for authors from low-income countries.

Archiving

The journal uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to create a decentralized, secure archive of its content across participating libraries. This ensures permanent access, preservation, and recovery of all published material.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The journal upholds the highest standards of ethical publishing based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines and the publication ethics policies of Halicon Publishers. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to principles of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, transparency, and academic rigor throughout the publishing process.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors submitting to the Journal of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Literature and Social Science are expected to provide an accurate, original, and honest account of their scholarly work. Submissions should be thoroughly researched, clearly presented, and accompanied by appropriate citations—particularly from recent literature—to support replication and further study.

Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is strictly prohibited. Any content derived from the work or ideas of others must be clearly cited, and quotation marks must be used for direct verbatim statements.

Only individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the manuscript should be listed as co-authors. Others who have contributed in a limited or technical capacity should be acknowledged appropriately. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and consent to its submission.

Authors are required to disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest and the sources of research funding, if applicable. If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered in the published work, authors are responsible for notifying the editors and cooperating in issuing corrections or retractions when necessary.

All submissions are screened for plagiarism, and any form of academic dishonesty or ethical misconduct will result in rejection or retraction in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) standards.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Peer reviewers are essential in maintaining the academic rigor and ethical integrity of the journal. All reviewers must treat submitted materials as confidential and must not share or use the content for personal advantage.

Reviews should be objective, respectful, and constructive, providing a balanced assessment of the manuscript’s strengths, weaknesses, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution to humanities, literature, or social science. Reviewers should identify any potential plagiarism, data manipulation, or previously published material.

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts for which they cannot offer an impartial assessment. If they are unable to complete a timely review or the manuscript lies outside their expertise, reviewers are expected to inform the editors promptly.

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors of the Journal of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Literature and Social Science are responsible for the final decision on all submitted manuscripts. Decisions are made based on the manuscript's scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope, independent of authors’ identity, affiliations, or background.

Editors must uphold confidentiality throughout the editorial process and ensure that no information about submitted manuscripts is disclosed to anyone outside the editorial and peer review process. Reviewer identities are kept anonymous unless otherwise agreed upon.

Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling submissions in which a personal or institutional connection may compromise impartiality. Editors are also expected to uphold COPE guidelines in all cases of suspected ethical violations, misconduct, or disputes.

Corrections, retractions, or clarifications will be issued where necessary to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the academic record.

Competing Interests

All contributors, including authors and reviewers, must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its assessment. These may include financial affiliations, academic collaborations, or personal relationships.

Manuscripts submitted by editorial board members or affiliated individuals will be reviewed independently by unbiased editors. The entire review process for such submissions will be managed to avoid undue influence and ensure transparency.

Consent and Copyrights Issues

By submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Literature and Social Science, authors retain full copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Published content is made available under an open-access license to ensure maximum dissemination and impact.

Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions and informed consent for the use of any copyrighted, confidential, or sensitive material. If the submission includes previously published figures, excerpts, or proprietary content, proper documentation of permission must be submitted along with the manuscript.

Failure to meet these ethical and legal requirements may result in the rejection of the manuscript.
